I really do hate Ryanair

I hate Ryanair. But still use them. Why? Well it’s pretty obvious, cheap flights. Is it really worth it though? I use the Stansted base as its close to where I live. I remember the days when Stansted was a pleasurable experience…low passenger numbers, spacious check in areas and departure lounges. Ryanair have changed this, the place is now a shit hole. BAA are partly to blame, I’ll get on to that later, but Ryanair have put them in a difficult situation, increasing the number of flights departing and arriving. The airport cant cope. When it takes longer to get through passport control than flying in from France, you know something is wrong.

So what have Ryanair done to deserve my time spent writing this drivel?

Let’s start with the fantastic “Priority boarding” scheme. What an amazing idea that was. So much so that most people on the flight now pay for this and are back in a long queue just like before, battling to get on the plane and grab a seat. What is it about the mad boarding rush? You’ll all get a seat! Anyway, I now travel with a small child in tow and had the pleasure of travelling from Stansted to Carcassonne a few weeks ago. When we got to the departure lounge we were told that because we had not paid the £5 per person priority boarding fee, we would have to wait, with small child, pushchair, numerous bags etc until everyone else had boarded. This is a fucking disgrace Mr O’Leary. I have since seen passengers in wheel chairs being made to wait just the same and then have to scrabble around for a seat with the rest of the passengers, who really dont care whether they push you out of the way. The cabin crew were useless and could not have cared less. What a bunch of tossers.

Sort it out you greedy scum. I hope we’ll soon see passengers moving back in large numbers to BA. I now consider them for every trip and will only use Ryanair as a last resort.

ryanair is a lowbudget airline..1 we have been ripped of long enough by other airlines, 2 if you dont like a company dont go to them again,3 for all the simple people out there,or ignorant if you check any airline website before you depart, check there guidlines on baggage, and you wont get any nasty surprises, people can be so stubid, and Ryanair do actually pay you back your training money, they want people to have an incentive and not wasting there time and money,so you pay upfront, and later get it back, including your uniform allowance,. there is a lot of emphasise on safety in ryanair, and security, which includes alot about passengers with reduced mobility, no1 passengers are our priority onboard,.its not knowing that makes yous very ignorant to the airline business.. remember this, ryanair do not rip people of, check the regulations before booking, and you wont be disappointed.. ryanair cabin staff, giving my views from the inside..

You idiots! To travel with Ryanair is not compulsory!! Choose another airline, pay 400 euros for a 1 hour flight and munch your dry sandwiches and mineral water you get for free on board. We don’t need YOU at all, there are tons of other people who are happy to fly with us. This year it’s gonna be 65 million!! You bunch of losers.

I’m actually quite shocked and upset by the content of some of the posts here by both passengers and also, seemingly crew. Actually, expecially the crew. Some of the language!
I am a senior member of Cabin Crew and have been with RyanAir for over 3 years.
I am not going to try to defend RyanAir because I can only comment on what I have experienced.
Firstly, an assurance to pax travelling, with me at least. I carry our scrupulous security checks at the beginning of the flight and after each sector once passengers have disembarked. I also re-check the areas covered by my Juniors.
I love my job, and I think it shows. I have never had a comfrontation with any passengers (or crew, although I’ve told a few to buck their ideas up!) and I put on my professional face in times of difficulty, maybe because I was brought up properly (and my Mum would murder me if I was ever rude to anyone!), but mainly because I know how difficult it is for pax to actually get on the aircraft! There’s check-in (with sometimes the most awfully rude swissport staff dressed in our uniform) to upset you first, then trying to check in your bag, dealing with the challenging manners of security and then walking to the gate. After you have negotiated all of this you then have to queue in an unclear miscellaneous queuing system and be screamed at by the equally rude swissport staff (in the ryanair uniform again) manning the gate!!! No wonder some of the passengers get on the plane miserable.
However, I have to say in the main that the majority of pax get off my flights with a smile on their faces. This could be down to my obvious wit and funny PA’s (lol), although it could also be down to relief at getting off!!
I agree that many of our contract staff get a rough deal, and many of the comments are true (although some are way way off!) which is sad, and it obviously I have a ryanair contract which mean that the pay is better but the conditions are the same.
Food is expensive on the plane but many shops in the terminal do excellent deals – buy ‘before’ you fly! Also, important to note that most of us cabin crew are as embarrassed about the prices as you are appauled at them!
I think the easiest way to deal with Ryanair is to accept it is how it is. Unfortunately complaining isn’t going to change anything – infact it probably fuels MOL!

Must start by saying ,greg, your the idiot. Also some people in Ryanair will post the good things on this site but remember RYANAIR this is IHATERYANAIR which is for people not happy with service and employment. All you happy workers for Ryanair,i am happy your happy in your job but lots are not happy at the way Ryanair,Crewlink,Workforce terminate staff to keep courses full.Ryanair and agents are doing a recruitment scam and they will be found out someday.I have seen the hurt ryanair/agents have done to young people in uk and O’LEARY/BONDERMAN
are guilty of this recruitment scam.David Bonderman is chairman of Ryanair and involved with BURGER KING…So if your not happy with Ryanair, dont use BURGER KING.
    Good luck to you all

It’s just not fair and takes the joy out of air travel–
FIRST – on a block booking to arrange my daughters wedding in Italy I made a mistake on the name details- -put my family name in the box instead of my future son-in-law’s name . Absolutely no way to correct this. Just buy another ticket was the only solution offered!! This is a disgrace!!
SECONDLY – single digit mistake on passport number, now they did correct this and even waived the fee at checkin. Not everything is cast in stone??
THIRDLY – the worst cabin team I’ve flown with. Legs hit by trolleys and never an apology, £15 to have 2 G and T’s delivered in tomato sauce like sachets!!
If this is Irish hospitality then you need to go back to business school and get back to basics.
I’ll pay more, fly to different arrival airports, and organize my travel to minimize my use of this appalling ’service’
I really to hate Ryan Air

    OK…
RYANAIR boards Passengers with special needs last because:
    - The most of the times the Aircraft has to refuell, law says that you can’t refuell with special assistance pax on board, so what they do is reserve the seats on board, Row 2 ABC and 3 DEF if there is such a passenger.
( they always refuell at arrival because it’s less cost for each pax as have to fly heavy to whole day )

    - Children and parents do sit at the same row.
If it happens that a family will come on board and no seats on board are left close to eachother the crew will move pax around to get the family close.

    - Everyone is pissed because of the baggage limit, 15 Kg .. But u know that when u book u’re ticket, and come on.. it doesn’t take long to check the weight of u’re bag at home..

    - Charges ?? Yes.. There are many charges.. But onestly I prefer to pay those charges instead of loads of ££ for a flight with BA, AF etc..
    It would anyway be cheaper..

Come on guys… RYANAIR makes flying simple as caughing a bus..
    and it’s cheap !!!

I will never , i repeat, never fly Ryan air even if they are the last Airline on planet earth. I ll take my chances with the boats.

It comes from the top down,CEO lead by example??
If I treated my clients in the same manner I would be bankrupt. It dosent matter if your selling ice cream or flights, you treat people with dignity and respect. Otherwise you have no respect for yourself.(Cabin Crew in particular take note)

I also will NOT fly ryanair again. Countless grief and watching staff being rude to people the last time , was simply out of order.

What a fantasic blog! The last time I used Ryanair, and I mean the LAST time, was a year or so ago. I was going to visit my mum for a holiday and took a little guitar with me to practice for some gigs I had coming up. The guitar is tiny tiny tiny.. smaller that most of the wheely suit cases people take up as hand luggage. I get to the gate and they stop me and say “you can’t take that up with you!” They told me I should have bought an extra seat for it or checked it in (it was in a soft case and is over 50 years old). I explained that it is tiny.. smaller than most peoples hand luggage and the girl called her boss, who told her that I had to leave it or not get my flight.. her exact words were “Throw it away, leave it in the garbage, whatever, but it’s not coming onboard.” (This was all in Spanish as I was flying Gerona to East Midlands). I was treated like a F**king terrorist for having a guitar. Luckily, one of the girls at the gate was a sweet Argentinian girl and took the guitar with her and gave me her number. I got the guitar back when I came back to Spain.

I will never in my life set foot on another Ryanair flight again. They are the epitome of bad service and I’m a happier man for having found this blog.

It’s great to see people standing up for their rights as cosumers and doing the only thing we have in our power to do.. unite and boycott rip-off bullshit companies like Ryanair.. hahahah FUCK YOU ryanair.. I hope you go bust very soon.

    Love to all
    Slotter :)

SHUT THE FUCK UP WITH ALL YOUR HATING. a waste of your time to be honest, why don’t you go and research other airlines and slag them off! there just as bad as ryanair… NO business wants to lose money do they??? dipshits. Also, if you were in the same position as O’leary, would you not want to make as much money as possible? i sure would!
The reason they rush you is because the BAA charge airport companies to stay on tarmack for too long.. now i’m sure thats saving you money because they’re not going to charge you for it are they.
yes, they are charging more to take more than one case of luggage, BUT that is helpful to the environment, it persuades people to take less and then they can help the environment !!!
AGHHHHH people, just stop complaining… just becuase your flight was awful doesnt mean everybody elses will be. if Ryanair goes bust, millions of jobs will be at risk… wouldn’t that THRILL people when we’re in the middle of a bloody recession! and also if they go bust, airlines will be forced to make more flights therefore put there prices up. so shut the fucking FUCK up already.

    Hello Mr Annoyedddddddd,

Oooh…did someone get of the wrong side of the bed this morning?

If you read the “about this blog” section, you’ll see why this was set up to start with. It’s Ryanair we have an issue with, not any other airline. If we were to have a bad experience on a regular basis with another airline, we would make our opinions known in similar fashion.

Your idea that Ryanair are saving the planet by charging people for baggage is quite simply mad. Are you? Mad?

And why do you have an issue with people complaining? Are you the type of person that’s gets his Big Mac, find’s a wiry pubic hair in it, but eats it anyway so as not to cause a fuss? Mmm, tasty.

If Ryanair goes bust, the world will rejoice and become a better place. Airports like Stansted will once again become a pleasure to travel from/to. Peoplew ill travel by air because they need to, not because they can. As for “millions” of jobs? We doubt it.

No, we wont shut the Fuck up. We’ll continue with our war on Ryanair with pleasure thanks.

You should all shut your mouthes and get on with your lifes!
Ryan air provides an ontime service no thrills to Loads of destinations.
You pay for what you get

    which is …

1.Polite and frendily staff (alot better then some ba cabin crew members)
    2.Good inflight serivce
    3.Extreamly cheap fares
4.And the no.1 on time airline in europe

  14. James Bagshaw says:

Some say that they are a bus service but ryanair isn’t as good as a bus service. On a bus you get priority seats for elderly and mother/children but the mad selfish cunts who fly ryanair don’t give a shit about any fellow passengers. It’s not the staffs fault, they are taught by the most hated and arrogant cunt in the world.
